Defined by IEEE 802.11.
- 2GFSK: using 1 Mbit/sec data stream, each bit is encoded as:
1 = positive frequency deviation, of nominal +160 kHz (minimum +110 kHz).The difference between symbols is nominally 0.32 x 1 MHz (the symbol rate) = 320 kHz.
0 = negative frequency deviation, of nominal −160 kHz (minimum −110 kHz).
- 4GFSK: using 2 Mbit/sec data stream, each pair of bits is encoded as:
10 = frequency deviation of nominal +216 kHz.The difference between symbols is nominally 0.45 x 0.32 x 1 MHz (the symbol rate) = 144 kHz.
11 = frequency deviation of nominal +72 kHz.
01 = frequency deviation of nominal −72 kHz.
00 = frequency deviation of nominal −216 Hz.
